I
proudly display the ONLY political yard sign
I have ever had the pleasure of being
allowed to be placed in my yard. I realize
how important it is to be involved at a
local level to change the way our city,
county, state and country represent the
values we should embrace. It is a great
pleasure that I can stand with this person
that shares and REPRESENTS values that were
the founding principles of this country. I
am late in getting involved in this
election, but am participating in helping my
neighbors and friends know that John is NOT
living a "business as usual" manner. John
brings fresh, heart searching value
questions to our city leadership. This can
move us out of any lethargy that we might
have toward the pride of living in city of
Lewisville. We are able to become a source
of encouragement to larger governing bodies
by exercising our strengths of being guided
by the directions our nations founding
fathers meant for us to be. Thank you, John!

Good News: The Greater Lewisville
Association of Realtors (GLAR) had interviewed the
candidates for Lewisville Council on 04-12-2010.
In a letter dated 04-21-2010 GLAR stated, "Along with
our 928 members, the Greater Lewisville Association of
Realtors is pleased to support your campaign..."
Their committee sent a check for my campaign.
Thank you GLAR.
To the voters of Lewisville,
I have lived in Lewisville for the past 34 years.
During that time I have experienced the
gradual deterioration of my neighborhood and
surrounding area, due to the influx of
illegal immigrants that seems to be
consuming our city by overcrowding our
schools and putting a strain on city
services.
I have attended several city council meetings and
observed first hand how our current city
council members have voted on issues
pertaining to illegal immigration. The
majority have taken the attitude that they
have done all that they can do in
confronting the problems created by this
influx. They also voted "not to vote" on the
motion to adopt English as the official
language of Lewisville.
There is one candidate running for Lewisville City
Council Place 4 in the upcoming election
that has convinced me that he is serious
about tackling these issues head on, and is
willing to at least try to take our city
back, and not have our path to the future be
dictated by the needs of persons that are
breaking the law by their very presence in
our community. The candidate that I am
referring to is John Gorena. Mr. Gorena's
values are consistent with the values that
founded America. Lewisville is our small
piece of America and we need to protect it.
One way we can do this is by electing
individuals that strongly believe in
American values and are passionate about
preserving them. I believe that John Gorena
is the man for the job. I strongly encourage
you to vote for him.
- Ralph Fitzgerald, Lewisville
I would like to add my support to John Gorena in his race for City Councilman for the City of Lewisville. I have know John for almost 3 years and have found him to be an intelligent and caring person who is concerned for the welfare of the City and her residents. We need someone who will speak for the unsung and forgotten among the city’s residents; someone who will fight for all of our needs and not just for select groups. We need to send a strong message to the City Council, so please join me in voting for John in this election.
- Respectfully,
Fred Muller -
Lewisville, TX
I would like
to take this opportunity to tell you why I
endorse John Gorena for City Council Place
4. John is an active and
inspired citizen who is always present at
City Council meetings and has stood up on
more than one occasion to defend the
citizens of Lewisville against the inaction
of the Council with regards to some very
critical issues, including fiscal
responsibility. Lewisville's future depends
on common-sense candidates like John who
will be a breath of fresh air in a very
stale environment. John's campaigns have
been run on a shoe-string budget which is
accounted for to the penny, and I am sure he
will be watching our tax dollars as closely
as he is watching our campaign
contributions.
John will fight for better training for our police
force so they can combat illegal
immigration, which is a problem for all
citizens except unpatriotic, greedy business
owners who would rather hire cheap labor
than to give the job to an unemployed
American or legal immigrant. I do feel sorry
for people who come to this country to find
jobs and support their families, but I am
FAR more compassionate for the millions of
people who are waiting in line to come into
our great Country LEGALLY. We simply cannot
afford to support an ever-growing population
of people who are here illegally and do not
pay taxes, yet benefit from all our services
for free. They are crowding our hospitals
and using the ER as a clinic, they crowd our
schools with their numerous off-springs and
they crowd our jails and judicial system
with criminals who invade our borders.
Enough is enough.
Therefore, if you want a Councilman who will be
fiscally responsible, preserve our values
and traditions, respect the law, look after
our first responders and improve their
lives, care for our schools and property
values and an all-around good man, please
vote for John Gorena .
- Sincerely, Frances Davis - Lewisville
I have lived in Lewisville for the past 15
years. During that time, I have seen a lot
of changes-some of them good, some of them
not so good. Overall, it saddens me to
notice the decline of many of the
storefronts and neighborhoods in this city.
Highland Village has done great things with
the area at 407 and 2499, and Flower Mound
has future plans for a fabulous riverwalk.
I was hopeful, that the City of Lewisville
was going to do more with building up Old
Town, as there is so much potential there,
but I have not seen much change since the
initial push.
We cannot turn a blind eye to the effects that illegal
immigration is having on this city. While
the obvious visual effect is east of I35E,
it is affecting every part of this city,
from its schools to its taxes to its
property values.
We need our City Council to take note of these things
and take steps to Keep Lewisville
Beautiful…and keep it a place that people
WANT to live, and eat, and shop.
John Gorena ran for City Council during the last local
election and won the MOST votes, however, he
fell just short of the 50% needed to win
over his other 2 opponents. I urge anybody concerned about the
future of Lewisville to get out and vote for
John Gorena. He is actively trying to take
steps to make a difference and make
Lewisville the best it can be!!
- Thanks, Wendy Briscoe - Lewisville
To the citizens of
Lewisville:
After speaking to the candidates and watching how the
current Lewisville council members have
voted on important issues that deal with
illegal immigration and English as our
official language, I encourage you to vote
for John Gorena who is running for
Lewisville Council, Place 4.
Mr. Gorena has been very active in supporting American
values and he has been outspoken on the
issue of illegal immigration.
Mr. Gorena is the only candidate that really
wants to do something about this issue. For
the sake of our community, our schools, and
the American way of life, please vote for
John Gorena (www.Gorena.org).
- Benita Fitzgerald, Lewisville
The
last thing we want in Lewisville is more of
the same. Isn’t this what just happened
again in Washington? I don’t want someone
that’s been on the city council seemingly
more than half of my life, or voted
“favorite citizen” by their buddies. What I
want is a REGULAR citizen that won’t rule
for political correctness (cultural
Marxism), but instead, adhere to the rule of
law and what is best for the city. Think
“Term Limits,” and you get the idea. This is
why I support John Gorena for Place 4.
Unlike so many of the others, he hasn’t
built his career as a politician, and from
what I can tell, he won’t act like one
either.
- Patrick Genuit, Lewisville
Dear Voters:
There are some good people running for
Lewisville City Council positions and I
respect them for that. John Gorena is one
that is informed, caring and will be a good
steward of our tax dollars. He has been
attending city and chamber meetings for at
least two years to educate him on what is
going on and what needs to be done.
John knows that no one person can do
anything by himself and he will work with
others to accomplish what needs to be done
for us, the tax payers. He will express his
opinion so we will know at all times how he
stands on any issue and he will listen to
your issues as well. John is very active in
several organizations and is always willing
to help. He can be trusted to do what he
says he will do.
Join me in voting for John Gorena for
council. Early voting starts April 27th.
Respectfully,
- Avie Raburn, Taxpayer in Lewisville since 1967
Dearest Lewisville
neighbors, friends, and Americans;
I write to you with a heavy heart and a great deal of
concern. My family and I have lived here for
just under one year, and the progressive
decline of our city in that short time span
has left me fighting for hope in many ways.
First; Our family’s safety. It is a fact
that where you have people living without
legal status there is more crime, and less
control in catching and prosecuting
criminals.
Second; Our children's educational growth.
My daughter’s kindergarten teacher has 24 or
25 students the most she has ever had and
the most challenging. She is a wonderful
teacher and goes way above the call of duty
to make sure each child gets what they need.
Reality check…she can’t keep it up and next
year the first grade teacher is going to
have even more on her plate so we are
looking at private or alternative schooling.
Lewisville ISD better get some help with
city council members who are NOT picked by
the current status and business as usual
members who care more about ordering meals
on our tax money than they do our kids
education. The standard of our child’s
education has been lowered in this school
year; imagine what it will be like by Jr.
High or high school?
Third; Our property value. These issues cost
all of us money and a great deal of money if
you add them up. It is beginning to rob us
of future College money, retirement money,
and allocations for a needed new car or
reasonable upkeep on our home. How can I
make these statements? I have to as I am a
Lewisville mom and wife. As I mentioned my
husband and I are looking into alternative
schooling for our young children and college
for one of our teenagers. That costs a great
deal more money than the public school that
we are already paying for with tax money. We
have had to invest in a security system
since we moved in. If my husband ends up
having to take a position in another city
due to the economic climate we would stand
to lose a great deal of the financial future
we have invested in our home. Who can afford
that these days?
Why is this happening? Because our political
representatives seem to be serving
themselves rather than us, the people of
Lewisville, Texas they promised to provide,
protect and serve.
John Gorena and others like him are in fact
like us - Lewisville residents struggling to
keep our hope in those who have made
promises for the positions they have so
graciously agreed to serve but unfortunately
have not done so with honor and integrity.
Susan Mosley - Lewisville, TX
Although Early Voting is nearly over, I hope
voters will still listen to what I have to
say. As a citizen and resident of
Lewisville, I am proud to endorse John
Gorena for Place 4, Lewisville Council.
John is very knowledgeable and cares deeply about our
Country in general and Lewisville in
particular. He is a patriotic American who
adheres to the values left us by our
forefathers, and will be a fine steward of
our tax dollars and our hopes!
I am sure that John, together with other candidates and
incumbents of similar mind, will do a great
job in improving our schools, keeping our
taxes low, ensuring our schools, hospitals
and other services go to those who have a
legal right to receive them, supporting our
first responders so they can continue to be
the best possible and making us proud (or
prouder) of our town.
Respectfully,
- Susan L. Davis-Duarte, Lewisville
I am not a resident of Lewisville, but I
would like to urge the voters of Lewisville
to elect John Gorena to fill Place 4 on your
City Council. I work side by side with John on political issues. I
know John to see an issue in its entirety.
He is able to articulate that issue and he
will not hesitate to question those on both
sides of an issue if he deems they have gone
off target. Issues usually do not always work in isolation.
His insistence on doing something about
illegal immigration is totally based on
knowing that when the rule of law is
ignored, the result will always be the
undermining of the rights of all others,
that fairness is out the window and the
unlawful get a free pass. A vote for John Gorena for Place 4 on the City Council will mean a vote for common sense and an understanding of what is important for the whole of Lewisville. He has no interest group to cozy up to, he has the courage to speak up on hard issues and the citizens of Lewisville citizens will not have to wonder if John really cares for the city he calls home. If you want this kind of leader, you will vote for John Gorena for Place 4.
You will have a dedicated public servant if you vote
for John Gorena for City Council, Place 4. - Jean Towell , Dallas Texas
I am a young conservative (19 years old),
and I'm not afraid to admit it. In addition,
I know that many of my peers have went to
the polls to
vote for John Gorena. As young people we too
love our city, and are worried about it's
future, and that is why I support John
Gorena based on his character and his
experience; however, the issues, and the
issues alone, make John Gorena the perfect
choice for Lewisville's City Council. John
understands the challenges we as a city
face. He recognizes that the city is
wasting taxpayer dollars by taking their
lavish Council retreat, he understands that
the council should take a more proactive
position against illegal aliens living in
Lewisville, and he affirms that our city's
official language is English.
Lewisville needs John Gorena, and that is
why I am proud, as a young, Christian,
Conservative, to endorse him for City
Council Place 4.
- John Paul Lewis - Lewisville
I've been surprised and disappointed at they
way some of Lewisville's "Elite Citizens"
have been behaving during this
election for City Council Place 4. The
arrogance on display is evidence that some
people view this election as little more
than a popularity contest. One endorsement
letter for a candidate was an exercise in
name dropping, and was nothing more than a
recap of previous endorsements. Another
endorsement suggested that if voters were
smart, they would come to the same
conclusion that he did on who the best
candidate is. I won't insult your
intelligence by telling you who the best
candidate is. Instead, I'll tell you why I
voted for John Gorena.
John Gorena isn't a politician. He's not
welcome at the Lewisville Elite parties.
He's an everyman. A regular citizen that,
like the majority of us, has true
conservative values and puts God and Country
above all else. He's been attending city
council meetings for well over 2 years and
has been going head to head with the city
council on important issues like the
luxurious city council retreat that we
citizens pay for (John is against it),
English as the official language (John is
for it), and the fight against those forces
that want Lewisville to be an illegal alien
sanctuary city.
I have conservative values, and there's only
one council member that seems to vote in a
way that is representative of my values, and
even he is not consistent enough for my
taste. The alarms start going off in my head
when I see all the people that consistently
vote in ways that are contrary to my values
endorse John Gorena's opponent. If you're
like me and you'd like Lewisville to stand
up courageously and do the right thing, even
on controversial issues, I hope that you'll
consider voting for John Gorena. Whatever
you do, please be true to your values when
you vote. If you do that, you can't go
wrong. -
Sincerely, Winston Edmondson Jr. -
Conservative Voter - Lewisville
John is a diligent worker. He will do a great job for the city of Lewisville. He is dedicated to making the City of Lewisville and the state of Texas a great place to live and work.
- Marvin Brooke
I've known John Gorena for almost 10 years
and all during that time he has shown that
he is man dedicated to moral causes without
regard to politics.
