(11-25-2011): "Young Heroes of the
Guard" toy drive. It is time once again for our annual Texas State Guard "Young Heroes of the Guard" toy drive. This is the 3rd year that we have done this and the response has been great.

to children that are confined in area hospitals: Cook Children’s, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, Our
Children’s House at Baylor and Children’s Medical Center.
Gifts do not have to be expensive, or huge. If your place of business would like to be involved, please

distributed) 2,444 toys… In 2010 we collected (and distributed) 3,558 toys…

WHERE: Texas State Guard personnel will be delivering toys to Texas Scottish
Rite Hospital in Dallas (Friday 16 Dec.) and Cook Children’s in Ft. Worth and

WHAT KINDS OF TOYS ARE NEEDED: New (hospital sanitation issues) and UN-wrapped
(the hospitals needs to see what the children are receiving)…
WHAT KINDS OF TOYS?: Boys and girls needed equally. Toys for older children
(teens) especially needed (i.e. board games, inexpensive video toys, G-rated
movie DVDs, etc.)
SIZE LIMITATIONS: None. We have actually given new bicycles that were donated.
Nothing too big or too small…
CAN NON-MILITARY PERSONNEL HELP DELIVER TO CHILDREN?: The access to
